What this website does not do
This website places no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. It has no forms and no accounts. All fonts and scripts are served from nicktakes.com itself; nothing is loaded from third parties. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you see no cookie banner.
Visiting this website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. in the United States. To deliver the pages and protect the service against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. Cloudflare keeps these logs for a short period and I do not use them to identify visitors. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and bound by a data processing agreement.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a secure and available website (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you contact me
If you email me, I process your name, your email address and whatever you write, in order to answer you and to follow up where that is wanted. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in handling correspondence, or the steps towards an agreement at your request (article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Email is hosted by Cloud86 in the Netherlands. I keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to handle your question. Correspondence that is part of a business relationship is kept for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires me to keep business records for that period.
Clients
Where I process personal data on behalf of a client during an assignment, the client is the controller and I am the processor. Article 11 of my general terms and conditions and a data processing agreement govern that processing. This statement does not.
Sharing and transfers
I do not sell or share personal data. The only parties that handle your data are the hosting and email providers named above, each under a data processing agreement. Apart from the hosting of this website by Cloudflare, your data stays within the European Economic Area.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Send your request to contact@nicktakes.com; I answer within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS only, with a strict content security policy and other hardening headers. If you find a security issue, please report it as described in the security.txt file on this website.
Changes
If this statement changes, the new version is published on this page with its date. This is version 1, dated 6 October 2026.
